ADOPTION - MEANS OF CREATING AND EXTENDING A FAMILY ASPECTS OF COMPARATIVE LAW

Summary/Abstract: Adoption is an important institution of civil law, but above all, it is a means of creating or expanding a family, it means love and a chance for a better life, serving a dual purpose: to provide a home to a child and then to give a child to a parent. These are the reasons why the problem of institutionalized children involves extremely sensitive issues, beyond procedures, numbers, legislation and studies.The states of the world, through the adopted laws, have different attitudes towards adoption, taking into account family traditions, religious conceptions, history, social and political context, a foundation that led to the drafting of this article, as a result of a research totaling 4 representative states, but extremely different: Romania, France, California and China.We are witnessing strong social change every day that inevitably reflects on family relationships and it is our duty as legal advisers to have an overview to decide what legislative adjustments are needed, to ensure progress and provide concrete solutions, thing that we can do it in a very solid way by analyzing and learning from the experiences of other states.
