Summary/Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic changed substantially economic and social life globally, causing both a health crisis and a deep recession. It had a significant negative impact on the formation of human capital in both quantitative and qualitative terms and highlighted a number of problems in this area. The purpose of the present study is to highlight and systematise more important effects of the pandemic on the formation of human capital in Bulgaria and to direct attention to problem areas that are a starting point for the development of policies and measures to improve the formation, preservation and development of human capital in the country.
