Summary/Abstract: This paper contains a conference report and other events from scientific life. 1. The conference "(Un)Vereintes Europa? Grenzen und Grenzüberschreitungen in der deutschen und österreichischen Literatur nach 2000 / (Ne)Sjednocená Evropa? Hranice a překračování hranic v německé a rakouské literatuře po roce 2000" focused on the significance of borders in literary discourse post-2000, exploring concepts of crossing these borders in German, Austrian, Czech, and Slovak literature. It also delved into the theme of Europe's external borders, European identity, and the deconstruction of borders in relation to the refugee crisis and authors with Czech and non-European roots. The conference highlighted cultural transfer between Czech, Austrian, and German theatrical and dramatic culture, reflecting on the theme of border crossing not only thematically and geographically but also symbolically and poetically. With 25 speakers from ten European countries, the event fostered an international dialogue on these pressing issues. 2. Obituary, which commemorates Růžena Hamanová, known for her sharp commentary and critical approach, she dedicated her entire life to the National Museum of Literature (PNP) while maintaining close, guarded relationships. Born on October 4, 1942, in Prague, she navigated educational and professional challenges due to her background but ultimately studied Czech and Russian at Charles University. Throughout her career, she played pivotal roles in various departments of PNP, culminating in positions such as scientific secretary and deputy director. Hamanová contributed significantly to the processing of literary archives and the organization of numerous exhibitions and publications. She passed away on June 14, 2023, leaving behind a legacy marked by her passion for literature and impactful decisions that shaped PNP's direction. 3. Obituary, which commemorates the life and work of Alena Wildová Tosi, a renowned professor of Czech literature at La Sapienza University in Rome. It reflects on her career, contributions to the field of bohemistics, and her influence on students and colleagues.
