Summary/Abstract: In this article we present the results of a surveyamong 556 Polish university students, conducted in thesummer of 2020 using an online CAWI surveyquestionnaire method. We investigated whether thestudents perceived that the transition to distance learningduring the pandemic period had changed their futurecareer prospects. The survey shows a distinct influence ofthe university (and its support) and the course of studyon the students’ assessment of their career prospects. Inaddition, the results of exploratory factor analysis, multiple linear regression, and logistic regression indicatethat attractive and engaging distance learning bolsters thestudents’ belief in their perceived value on the labormarket. Notably, the students perceived the pandemic asan important structural factor that went beyondindividual biographies. The students’ assessment of howthe pandemic is changing the economy was an importantpredictor of how they perceived their chances on the jobmarket.
