Summary/Abstract: Objectives: • The evaluation of psychotic children and adolescents, their multidisciplinary approach. • To improve their communication abilities, through the understanding of their communication patterns. • The identification of particular communication models in families with a schizophrenic member. • To prevent the explosion of psychosis in children, which are exposed to a “high risk”, having parents with psychosis. • To rebuild a developmental process of the family, working with her subsystems and the family history, through the therapeutic context. • The introduction of new communication and relational models and other role repartitions, the mobilization of family resources. Methods and therapeutic interventions • The activation of the family competencies – evaluated through the genogram • The circularization of information in those families being in a rigid transaction, in which the time is stopped in a point and the homeostasis is reduced to lack of change and a no-change mechanism. • The photogram which helped to rebuild the relation with the family. • The positive connotation of the family system. • The symptom prescription, found in Mara Selvini’s work. • The identification of the pathologic “double binds”, ”perverse triangles”, in order to understand the intrinsic family mechanisms. • Reconfirmation therapy- found in Watzlawick’s, Haley’s and Selvini’s work. Conclusions Approaching family therapy, we achieved the rediscovery of the personal and familial resources, the rehabilitation of the position of the child and of the family capacities, a better communication between the family members and we obtained a positive change.
