RITUAL BREADS IN THE REGION OF VELIKA PLANA

Summary/Abstract: The work was created as a result of field work carried out in Velika Plana and surrounding villages in the period of July - August 2019. During the research of this topic for the purpose of a bachelor’s thesis, I focused on the description, classification and analysis of ritual breads that are traditionally prepared, ie. baked for the most important Serbian feasts in Velika Plana and its surroundings, the transformation that took place in the usage of ritual breads in this area, that is, which ritual breads have survived to this day and which are no longer mixed / prepared as well as what is their function and significance in modern times.
