Summary/Abstract: The tone was created during the Baroque period. During this period, both performers and composers focused more on the multitude of elaborated musical ornaments. They made several changes in musical notation, developing new techniques in instrumental interpretation. Baroque music developed through the diversity, complexity and size of instrumental ensembles. During this period, musical genres also developed, such as opera cantata, concert, sonata and oratorio. Musical concepts from that period are still used in music today. Claudio Zuan Antonio Monteverdi, who lived between 1567-1643, is considered the first important composer of modern opera. His works are present on all important stages in the world.
