Summary/Abstract: Foreign travels were one of the factors supporting the flow of knowledge about trends in the art of garden design. They contributed to the transfer of ideas and specialists. They were conducive to establishing contacts, learning about the collections of plants and minerals, and visits to the gardens were an important part of the travelers’ itineraries. The travelers’ impressions on garden issues, were reflected in the travel reports. The article is an attempt to analyze the observations related to gardening expressed by selected Polish travelers around Europe in the second half of the 18th century.
