SOCIO-POLITICAL DELIBERATIONS OF SLOBODAN SELENIĆ: A STEP INTO REALITY

Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes newspaper articles by Slobodan Selenić written at the end of the 1980s’ and beginning of 1990’s regarding socio-political circumstances of socialist Yugoslavia at the verge of its disintegration. As the last president of the Association of Writers of Yugoslavia, Selenić kept track of the preparation for the disintegration of the federative community all the while reflecting on and warning about the unseen consequences of the subsequent bloody international conflict. The depth and reach of some of his observations far surpass the scope of the analysis of a concrete cause and bring lucid deliberations on some important aspects of national characterology.
