Summary/Abstract: The archivistic fonds of the historian David Prodan (1902-1992) is one of the most important achievement of Cluj branch of the National Archives of Romania. Archivist, librarian, professor in Cluj and member of the Romanian Academy, one of the most proeminent 20th century Romanian historians, David Prodan also left to the posterity an impressive archive, which allows the detailed reconstitution of his biography and the workshop of his work. The 15,00 linear meters of the fonds comprises 754 archivistic units from the period between 1902 and 2002, illustrating his most favorite topics: the history of the peasantry in Transylvania, the national movement, the uprising of Horea, but also his university courses, the economic history, the institutions where he acted, exchange of letters with other historians, his memories.
