Summary/Abstract: In the complex procedure of the self-constitution of modernity, integrative processes of national constitution play an •important but complex role. The constitution of a nation is a process of collective self-interpretation according to the work of national elites in cooperation with the lived traditions of the population. So it is clear that, on the one side, every nation attains its specific shape according to its socio-historical conditions and that, on the other, there are some common figures that can be found in every national process, attributable to its being an interpretation, that is to say, according to the very logic of interpretative acts, their universal elements, as well as those common to a pre-modern historical framework.
