Summary/Abstract: The paper first follows the terms paradigm and paradigm shift from the beginnings throughout the main paradigm-shifts in literary science, then examines the effects of the current ‘digital age’ upon literature teaching, especially in higher education, with main focus on teaching German literature within German Studies (at the University of Pannonia in Veszprém and at the J. Selye University in Komárno). The study further investigates the extent to which literature teaching in the digital epoch can mean a new paradigm, or, in what terms it can be related to the series of paradigm shifting in literary science throughout the past century, as well as to literature teaching methods whatsoever. The paper also dedicates special attention to digital teaching methods applied during the pandemic and their applicability or necessity in terms of teaching (German) literature in future.
