18th-19th Centuries Handbooks in Romanian, Latin and German preserved at the library of Brașov County Archives. Manners of Exploitation

Summary/Abstract: The catalogue in this paper includes Romanian, Latin, and German handbooks printed in the 18th and 19th centuries, which are preserved in the library of Brașov County Archives. They represent an interesting testimony for what the pupils studied in the schools in the past. The title and publication dates of the handbooks in German are accompanied by their translation in Romanian, expressing the regret that, due to my lack of knowledge in Hungarian, I was not able to insert the handbooks written in this language in the present paper. The notes emphasize the signatures on the handbooks, while the peculiarities of the copies are mentioned during the books’ description (for instance, the manuscript notes, the binding, the letter, the adornments) having in intention to bring new information, which could not be detected in the books’ datasheet in the alphabetic and systematic catalogues of the library.
