Summary/Abstract: The article presents the Performance Analysis for Research Libraries (AFBN) pro- ject from a historical perspective and in the context of its current development. It discusses the project inception, objectives, and underlying principles, as well as the teams involved, data statistics, indicators, and registered libraries. The article also highlights the project’s strengths and weaknesses, emphasizing the potential of the gathered data that remains un- derutilized by the registered libraries. Lastly, several recommendations for the future are provided, primarily focusing on research regarding the impact and value of libraries.
