Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to evaluate the use of new information technology in order to create appropriate relations between health care providers and patients in the era of the Information Society. The main attention is paid to the professional character of the medical services performed for people who needed health care. The article presents the use of Web sites as marketing tools in the process of two-way communication and also mentions the problem of asymmetric information appearing on the health care market. The article shows the role of the information technology in a scientific aspect and its assessment according to the data received in the research carried out on a sample of 200 health care providers and 201 patients in Lower Silesia at the turn of July and August 2013.
