Summary/Abstract: This article addresses the question of literature in the work of Jacques Derrida and aims to understand the way in which the French philosopher attributes an important role to literature in the context of deconstruction. The analysis consists of three distinct phases: first, the definition of the question, then the idea of fundament in relation to a specific conception of the law, and finally the fundamental principles of literature using the notion of parergon. Instead of presenting a definition of the literary that respects a finite set of rules produced from Derrida’ s texts, we seek to examine literature as a question to which there is no definite answer.
