Summary/Abstract: The political transformation and the Polish accession to the EU determined the changes in the system of vocational education in the fields of medical courses, regulated by separate regulations. The aim of the study was to analyze the potential consequences of system changes in vocational training of doctors and nurses in Poland in relation to the possibility of securing the anticipated health needs of Poles in the perspective of 2035. Therefore, the paper characterizes the objectives of the reform of higher education in relation to the direction of strictly medical courses, as well as it is an attempt to assess the consequences of the change, both in positive and negative dimension. Equally, research attention has been focused on the quality of education in medicine and nursing, with respect to the current needs of the labor market, as well as satisfying the needs of society.
