Summary/Abstract: The authors of the Statute of the International Criminal Court, in determining war crimes, were guided by the established typology of armed conflicts after the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Additional Protocols of 1977. The object of this scientific investigation is to determine the extent to which contemporary conflicts falls within the recognized typology of armed conflicts, which would allow a correct qualification of war crimes.
