Summary/Abstract: Our research aims at examining the identity and diversity between Spanish and Romanian in terms of linguistic metaphors, combining corpus analysis with the principles of cognitive semantics. We shall analyse contexts of use of two pairs of equivalents – liquidez / lichiditate, liquidación / lichidar – belonging to the same lexical family, with the aim of detecting the presence of the same conceptual metaphor in Spanish and Romanian.
