Summary/Abstract: The Article explains Gadamer’s critique of Kant’s aesthetics in Truth and Method (1960). The paper first examines basics characteristics of Kant’s foundation of modern aesthetics (I). This is followed by consideration Gadamer’s interpretations of the process of the subjectivization of aesthetics in Kant’s Third Critique (II). Finally, it considers critique of abstraction aesthetic consciousness and conception of aesthetic differentiation as Gadamer’s attempt to through analysis of Kant’s theory of taste complete its own hermeneutics of art (III).
