Summary/Abstract: Observed in chronological order Arabic grammatical science is shown as a transmitter of all those things that make general foundations of linguistics from the old traditions to the younger generations intrusting them with its own contribution in the sphere of transmission of experience in its own use in other complementary sciences. It has also pointed out the need for the language science to be clearly defined together with the attempts to distinguish the subject of numerous constituent branches among which priority was given to grammar. Differentiation of learning between Kufa and Basra schools was the result of the effort of the language science to meet the needs of other sciences in their development and they were reconciled by the scholars gathered in Baghdad during the period in which all sciences taken over from other communities were assimilated into the new milieu. However, a part of the protagonists from Baghdad, the administrative and cultural centre of tat time, where all other significant events within the boundaries of the state were transmitted, as well as the scientific enterprises, patronage began to interfere into the matters of science. The grammarians started to take the role of court educators, by which they indicated the end of dealing with the grammar by the idealistic enthusiasm. From that time dealing with grammar is not only fulfilment of an honourable task, but also the means for the grammarians better life conditions. From those times the grammarians started to analyse the earlier works, and when the means to stimulate them were exhausted the grammar in the eastern parts started to inevitably fade out.
