Summary/Abstract: The Repertorium Academicum (REPAC) database records all visitors to the Basel University until 1550 and, in part, also their later careers. Thanks to these records, one can visualise on a map changes in the place of origin and increasingly also the location of later activities of these scholars. This approach can help us to better understand the dissemination of academic knowledge during that time. It also shows that, in contrast to for instance the Wittenberg University, Basel University did not play a significant role for Bohemia and other areas of East Central Europe during the period under consideration.
