Summary/Abstract: The personality of Caius Julius Caesar was one of the most representative for the Late Republic. His political prowess doubled with excellent military abilities (and sometimes recklessness) made him overcome some rather challenging situation, especially during the conquest of Gaul. In this conflict the cavalry played a decisive role but, it also underwent significant changes.
