Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the formative values of the project method (thematic project method) in primary education. The project method is an integrated teaching method that actively involves students in the educational process, stimulates their creativity, makes them more responsible, develops their group collaboration skills and helps them aquire useful skills for the future. This method was first developed in the United States of America in the '20’s by John Dewey, but was later developed by W. Kilpatrick in his work entitleg „The project Method”. In addition to this method, other methods of integrating educational content are briefly presented. Moreover, the paper specifies what an integrated curriculum means, how educational contents can be approached integrally and what types of curricular integration there are (monodisciplinarym multidisciplinary, pluridisciplinary, interdisciplinary).
