Summary/Abstract: This article explores the impact and challenges posed by AI-based technologies, with a special emphasis on deepfake technology, in the context of global legislative initiatives and regulatory efforts to harmonize technological innovation with the protection of individual rights. Deepfake manipulation, as a form of counterfeiting involving sets of images or sounds—that is, computer data in a broad sense—provides a groundwork for analyzing the potential for specific offences such as computer forgery, privacy invasion, and fraud to be recognized.
