Summary/Abstract: The paper is devoted to discussing the earnings of professors at the University of Bologne in late Middle Ages. It is based on the analysis of registers of lectures’ salaries from the 14th and 15th centuries, surviving in the State Archive in Bologna. The income of professors was compared to that of other social groups in Bologna at that time.
