Summary/Abstract: This article is based on the correspondence between two important European musicologists of the second quarter of the 20th century, Jacques Handschin and Higini Anglès. I analyse the political problems discussed in these letters as well as the influence of the political beliefs of the both scientists on their scientific concepts.
