Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to show the causes and consequences of the American Revolution. The American Revolution represents one of the first revolutions that brought the most significant changes in the entire state system. In the first part of this paper, seven events that preceded the Revolutionary War were explained. The second part of this paper is devoted to the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Through the third part, which refers to the Revolutionary War, are explained the courses of the war, the most significant battles and the influence and entry of other countries into the war. The last part of this paper refers to the short-term and long-term consequences of the American Revolution. Historical and dogmatic-normative methods were used in this paper. Conclusion it the last part of this paper.
