The Role and Challenges of Religious Education in the Development of Moral Values in Youth

Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses the question of the role and challenges of religious education in the development of moral values in youth. It provides an overview of the research findings. The research was based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the analytical-descriptive method, the survey method as a variant of the analytical-descriptive method, as well as content analysis procedures and surveys. The re-search examined the attitudes of adolescents in the Una-Sana Canton regarding the importance of religious education in the development of moral values. The research results indicate that the quality of Islamic upbringing and education is inseparable from the quality of family and school upbringing, which are fundamental determinants in the development of moral values in youth and the overall quality of human life.
