Summary/Abstract: People frequently talk about the “internet” or “google generation”, which alienates itself and distances itself from parents, relatives and friends, and excludes from the society. Those young people are increasingly making an escape from the real world into the virtual one, thereby dulling the sense of life’s realities and losing the need for human proximity, the warmth of direct encounter and communication. Parenting has become challenged, more difficult than ever before. In order for education to be possible even in the age of the growing influence of information technology and electronic media, a valid, responsible and realistic understanding of the position of education and the cooperation of all relevant participants are necessary: families, religious communities and their educational institutions, schools and media. Parents, teachers and educators, religious communities and schools must take greater responsibility and be much more dedicated to education. In this regard, religious education in schools could play a particularly significant role.
