Summary/Abstract: Faith and religious content leaving the sacred space and moving onto the public stage in the early 1990s was a novelty and challenge for the media scene of the entire Balkan region. This was also the case with the initial initiatives to introduce religious education into schools in the summer of 1990 and its experimental presence in the 1991/1992 school year. This paper discusses how the media, with a special focus on the media of the Islamic Community (Preporod, Glasnik, Islamska misao, and Takvim), followed the process of introducing religious education into schools.
