The Influence of Islamic Religious Education on the Universal Values of Sarajevo Primary School Students

Summary/Abstract: Following a brief theoretical elaboration, this paper presents the results of research on the influence of Islamic religious education on the values and behaviors of students in Sarajevo’s primary schools, with a focus on universal values. The results were obtained from the most significant participants in the school: Islamic religious educators, parents, students in higher grades of primary school, and school pedagogues. The survey included 2,247 respondents. Data were collected through survey questionnaires for all subsamples except for pedagogues, who were interviewed. The general finding of this research indicates that all respondents find a positive impact of Islamic religious education on the development of universal values and positive behaviors in students.
