Summary/Abstract: The large number of refugees in Ukraine is changing the charitable commitment in Poland and Germany. Institutional Caritas is responding with special programmes to support volunteers who work with refugees. These measures stand for a new vol- unteerism, for a changed civil society in both countries, but also for a church devel- opment out of social responsibility.
