Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to show that by playing a field game, students can be encouraged to learn and become interested in many aspects of the natural sciences. It has been shown that modern teaching techniques, using GPS receivers, can be a valuable tool for Geography teachers. The Geocaching game (available as a free smartphone application) was chosen as a good example of one such teaching technique, on the basis of which a didactic path was created in the “Żabi Kraj” area, which is an attractive nature area in the Cieszyn district in southern Poland. For the purposes of this article, a survey was conducted among students who participated in classes using the didactic path. Over 200 students of a range of ages took part inthe survey, from the sixth class of Primary school to the 2nd and 3rd grades of High School classes. As many as 96% of them were satisfied with the outdoor activities during which they learned using the Geocaching field game.
