Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the analysis of methodological assumptions articulated by Joanna Szczutkowska in her book Foreign Cinematographic Policy of the People’s Republic of Poland in the 1970s and their implementation in research practice. The analysis aims to demonstrate that the methodological and logical declarations of the historian are at odds with the research practice and are merely a rhetorical device intended to mar the author’s high level of methodological awareness. The article shows that, contrary to the historian’s declarations about the interdisciplinarity of the monograph, it is an example of a classical event and descriptive history.
