Summary/Abstract: Considered one of the greatest composers of mankind, Johann Sebastian Bach was a genius without fame, appreciation and resounding public successes during his life but revered by all the musicians who succeeded him. Johann Sebastian Bach composed around 1720 the Six Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin, in Köthen. Being a work outside the norms of that time due to the lack of accompaniment, for almost a century it was forgotten, rediscovered and later brought to the concert halls by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. In this paper I chose for analysis the Partita no. 3 of this cycle of Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin because it contains the famous Prelude, a work that made me discover the beauty and purity of J. S. Bach's music.
