Summary/Abstract: During its layered history of eight centuries, the Church of the Ascension in Čačak, the former Virgin in Gradac, is an example of dynamic transformations of the same monument, primarily its architecture due to changes in its religious function, political, ideological, and stylistic backgrounds. The work aims to draw attention to the various circumstances and demands of society that have influenced the dynamic changes in the Church's architecture over the centuries, intending to give an insight into its appearance in different phases of its existence.
