Summary/Abstract: Studies on the Polish family, the role and position of women in the 19th-century society are becoming more and more popular. This topic is eagerly discussed both in scientific studies and publications intended for a wide audience. The author of popular science books has to face several challenges related to conveying a large dose of knowledge in an attractive and clear way. The article evaluates the struggles of A.
