Summary/Abstract: The article informs the readers about silver Torah shields commissioned by Jewish communities and made in Prague workshops. Shields of Prague provenance form about a quarter of the collection kept in the State Jewish Museum. The article includes a typological classification of the shields and studies their decoration and development of style. Added to the text are lists of the makers’ marks to be found on the shields made by Prague silversmiths in the 18th—19th centuries. Thus the readers learn how many shields were made in single workshops.
