Summary/Abstract: The paper studies the historian and astronomer David Gans’ chronicle published under the title “Tsemah David“ in Prague in 1592. The authoress analyses the methods of David Gans’ work and the principles of methodology he followed. She also discusses the non-Jewish historical sources that David Gans drew on and the way he used them.
