Summary/Abstract: In October 1939 two Jewish transports left Ostrava and two more Vienna for Nisko lying in the occupied territory of Poland. The author deals with the so-called “Action of Nisko“ representing one episode in the Nazi “final solution“ of the Jewish question. He studies archives records and literature published so far, analyses critically existing opinions of the Nazi action, and himself characterizes it as “displacement of Jews as a means of extermination“.
