Summary/Abstract: The article reviews curre t development of the Person-Centered Approach in psychotherapy founded by Carl Rogers. It reflects the variability and changes in the very name of the approach; and it shows how the analysis of the original ideas has emerged into new forms of classical therapy (dialogical approach, pre-therapy) and new orientations of experiential therapy (Focusing, Process-Oriented Experiential Therapy) have differentiated. Last but not least the changes have brought enrichment to the essential theoretical concepts in forms of pluralistic theory of self, relational depth or defining the difficult processes in psychopathology. Thanks to the support and activities of the World Association the international cooperation is growing and the general awareness of Person-Centered Approach as an effective and evidence-based approach with a broad scale of use is improving.
