Summary/Abstract: The contribution summarizes almost all models of classification of the Slavic languages presented in previous 350 years, from simple enumeration through the qualitative to quantitative approaches, leading usually to developmental models depicted as tree-diagrams, but also the linear and net models. The individual models, especially the quantitative ones, are discussed in details and finally correlated with witness of Byzantine historians.
