Summary/Abstract: This article examines a printed scroll of the Book of Esther (Megillah) from the collection of the Jewish Museum in Prague. The scroll combines the traditional Hebrew text with five woodcuts that illustrate the biblical story. The woodcuts are derived from the popular book Tsene-u'rene (Zeena u-reena), a Yiddish adaptation of the Bible for women. The article analyzes the artistic and technical features of the woodcuts, as well as their thematic and stylistic relationship with the Tsene-u'rene illustrations. The article also discusses the possible origin and date of the scroll, suggesting that it may have been produced in Prague in the second half of the 18th century.
