Summary/Abstract: Members of the hierarchy of the Greek Orthodox Church met in a working session on January 23 to discuss Christian marriage in the face of the challenge of legalizing “same-sex marriage”, a topic widely debated in the Greek public space following the media coverage of a draft law to legalize this type of marriage and which was subsequently adopted by the Parliament on February 15. Following the discussions in the Holy Synod, a text called “Encyclical of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece on marriage”, addressed to all believers, was unanimously adopted an it is fully translated here into Romanian.
