Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author attempts to present the work of the international project that prepares the Historical and Theological Lexicon of the Septuagint. Although in the highest scholarly circles there is no doubt about the importance of this work, in Slovakia it may appear otherwise. But the study of the vocabulary of the LXX is not just some obscure academic discipline divorced from real life, but has quite practical implications for the daily lives of Christians who live the Scriptures and the liturgy.
