Summary/Abstract: In his book Między ukryciem a jawnością. Esej z filozofii religii i teologii filozoficznej [Between Hiddenness and Openness: An Essay in the Philosophy of Religion and Philosophical Theology], Jacek Wojtysiak addresses, among other issues, the question of God’s goodness. He searches for the most convincing answer to the question of how to reconcile the great fact of evil with the existence of God. He also proposes a reinterpretation of the traditional account of God’s goodness by developing Brian Davies’ concept. I believe that J. Wojtysiak’s attempt can be supplemented with some relevant points. In my paper I indicate possible additions. I draw attention to the possible undesirable consequences of some of J, Wojtysiak’s proposed solutions. I also show how the Author’s proposal could be supplemented to avoid these consequences. I draw attention to the dangers of modifying the attribute of goodness attributed to God, which have been pointed out in discussions around the problems of evil and God’s hiddenness. I discuss the issue of 'creative grace', placing it in a context somewhat different from that of the Author. Finally, taking up the challenge thrown down by J, Wojtysiak of trying to reconcile the great fact of evil with God’s goodness, I present a proposal for a new treatment of the issue.
