Empirical Feeling and Moral Action in Kant

Summary/Abstract: In this study we aim to investigate Kant’s thought on the concept of feeling. Through hermeneutical method, that involves genealogy and links between ideas, we follow the develop of the concept of feeling in three main stages: one focusses on the Observations on the Feeling of the Beautiful and Sublime; the second regards some aspects from Critique of Pure Reason; and the later investigates the Metaphysics of Morals. The main question of the study is that the vision from the begining (feeling is self sufficient as practical postulate, despite some imperfection and malfunctions) is still available during the second and the third stages. Our theory sugests that Kant chose to advocate only the feelings that relies on reason (happyness, moral feeling), while the rest of them are asimitated with regular sensation.
