Institutionalization of the participatory budget at the municipal level – assessment of statutory norms

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to assess the norms on participatory budget at the municipal level introduced by the amendment of January 11, 2018. For this purpose, the legal-dogmatic method was used to analyse the regulations contained in the Law of March 8, 1990 on municipal self-government. The article presents various opinions (both affirmative and critical) found in the literature and doctrine relating to the introduced regula- tions, as well as proposals for changes. The issue presented in this article is important due to the recent (2022) amendment of one of the articles, which makes the analysis of the remaining regulations essential.
