Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the internal composition of the group of Czechoslovaks in international brigades that, after the end of the Spanish Civil War, got involved in the Czechoslovak Exile Resistance in 1939–1945. More than 2 200 Czechoslovaks fought in Spain, and 614 of them can be documented to have gone through the evidence of the Czechoslovak army-in-exile in the WWII – 499 of them actually served in the military units at least for some time others were either turned down for medical reasons, or decided not to serve after all. An absolute majority (451 persons) were mustered already in 1939–1940 in France, especially in the internment camp Gurs, while, on other territories where the Czechoslovak Army was being organized, there were only very small numbers of them. The numbers given are to be considered as minimal, since the research and verification are still in progress. The statistical treatment follows several selected sociological and military sociological categories, such as national structure, place of origin, age, or military rank, promotions and functional categorisation. Actual, quantitative data and their analysis bring new findings about this small, yet important group in the Czechoslovak army-in-exile during the WWII. The results can, in the form of hard data, serve as a starting point for further research.
